The national government has extended the nationwide curfew by a further 30 days as part of measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Making the announcement on Monday, health CS Mutahi Kagwe revealed that the extension was occasioned by the high positivity rate, adding that Kenya is yet to flatten the curve. And as Laura Otieno reports, the pronouncement has been faulted by medical experts and economists who argue that the blanket curfew is detrimental to the country’s economy.
