In this video, I discuss how to sell cash-secured puts to generate income, using SNAP as an example.
If the stock is above your put strike price at expiration, you get to keep the premium and don't need to do anything else.
If the stock is below your put strike price at expiration, you will be forced to buy the stock at the put's strike price. But then you can turn around and immediately sell at-the-money calls against your stock to generate even more income.
When doing cash-secured puts, it is very important to make sure that you have enough cash in your account before selling any puts (# of puts times strike price times 100 will give you the dollar amount).
