This video features a Boeing Vertol 107 II C-FHCN of Helifor on approach and landing at the Nelson Municipal Airport CZNL after a long day of wildfire fighting on the Sitkum Creek Forest Fire in the Kootenay Region of British Columbia. It was really impressive to see this 52 year old helicopter in action picking up water from Kootenay Lake with the long-line bambi bucket and dumping on the forest fire in the area. There has been quite a bit of interesting helicopter and aviation traffic around CZNL due to the fires in the area this summer.
The Boeing Vertol 107 II is a medium-lift, tandem rotor helicopter and is the civilian version of the military Boeing Vertol CH-46 Sea Knight.
