The NGO Committee on the Status of Women, NY (NGO CSW/NY), supports the work of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women and UN Women. NGO CSW/NY is an untiring advocate with Member States for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls across the globe in support of the work of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women and UN Women. NGO CSW/NY supports the implementation of the 1995 Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, UN Security Resolution 1325, the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Convention to Eliminate All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
In September, UN Women convened an Expert Group Meeting.

NGO written statements will be available at a later date on the UN Women website under NGO Participation. This is a good resource and gives more information into the themes to be discussed. Please check their website from time to time as they continue to update it.
On the UN Women’s website, under “Opportunities for NGOs to address the Commission” in the NGO Participation section you will find instructions on how to make a speech during the general discussions and how to make interventions.
If you are an ECOSOC NGO, you can submit your interest in delivering an oral statement or to make an intervention through the UN Women website starting 24 January until 18 February. Submission for oral interventions from the floor during the interactive expert panels are also available through the UN Women website from 24 January to 18 February. Be sure to follow the instructions as indicated.
