This is a video I made for my students to show them art history and a project. I started off with a little over 5 minutes discussing Rene Magritte. I showed a few of his works to help students understand the Surreal style, but mainly, I focused on his famous painting, The False Mirror from 1928. After a little discussion of the piece and what makes it such an important work from an art historical standpoint, I demonstrated how students can make their own drawing of a close cropped eye with a surreal connection.
