Young male after blunt scrotal injury.
Testicular fracture is a time sensitive diagnosis that requires emergent operative repair.
The sonographic findings include:
1. Hematocele (not well shown here, but alone is nonspecific)
2. Discontinuity of the tunica albuginea
3. Loss of testicular integrity with heterogeneous texture
Imaging tips include: adequate analgesia, copious gel, careful technique to evaluate entire testicle and scrotal contents. Comparison views to unaffected testicle can be helpful.
