Edenton’s story is the tale of North Carolina’s beginning. Three centuries ago it became NC’s first Colonial capital. Signers of the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution lived and worked alongside one of our nation’s first Supreme Court justices.
That history lives on today in this beautifully preserved town on Edenton Bay. Visitors hop aboard the Edenton Trolley Tour, and trace the steps of historic figures via walking tours. The town is home to the most intact Colonial courthouse, circa 1767, and the 1886 Roanoke River Lighthouse. www.VisitEdenton.com
