A day after Assembly Elections 2016 exit polls predicted big win for BJP and setback for Congress, MCD bypoll results 2016 offered some relief to the beleaguered Congress with win in four of the 13 wards which went to bypolls while BJP won from three wards. The ruling Aam Aadmi Party also made a grand entry with five wards under the kitty. The Delhi municipal elections are due in 2017.
The results have come as a big boost to the Congress after the rout it faced in the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections when it failed to even open its account. The results must have come as shock to the BJP which is ruling in all the three municipal corporations in the national capital.
