#Shorts "CLAMSHELLS" - If back pain, hip pain, and even a weak core is an issue for you, I highly recommend that you add the clamshell exercise to your arsenal.
💥BUT!! You need to make sure you're doing them properly, otherwise you'll overcompensate with totally different muscles than what you're trying to target (i.e. your glute medius and other deep hip stabilizers.)
These two tips will ensure you're doing them right👇👇
1️⃣ Top elbow down (on the floor or on a pillow/block)
2️⃣ Top knee an inch further forward than bottom knee
💥Practice both regular reps (10-15x in a row), and holding reps + exhale (5-10x).
As I always say, if you want your body to function AMAZING, then you NEED a combination of 1) strengthening, 2) stretching and 3) alignment/posture work. If your routine is missing any of these 3, you'll still be feeling miserable. (Clamshells are the strengthening piece.👍)
