We’re launching a wooden plank straight into laminated glass made with Saflex™ Storm PVB interlayers for a large-missile impact test. Discover the resilience of Saflex Storm against severe winds and wind-borne debris.
Saflex Storm PVB interlayers are specifically designed and formulated to meet building requirements for laminated glass in severe wind and wind-borne debris markets. These tough, resilient interlayers offer a blend of rigidity, strength, glass adhesion, and protection against wind-borne debris and flying objects. When laminated glass made with Saflex Storm breaks, it’s designed to retain glass shards, ensuring safety in post-breakage scenarios.
While no single product offers protection from hurricanes, cyclones and violent storms, laminated glass windows, doors and skylights made with Saflex™ Clear, Saflex™ HP or Saflex™ Storm (VSO2) PVB interlayers can be a critical first line of defense. In properly designed systems, laminated glass effectively withstands natural forces, helping to maintain the critical exterior envelope of buildings. In the event of breakage due to wind-borne debris impact, the glass fragments firmly bond to the protective interlayer, safeguarding building occupants and contents.
Saflex Storm is compatible with other Saflex PVB interlayers and coatings as well as with Vanceva™ color interlayers.
