Politics has erupted over Parliament security breach with Congress demanding Union Home Minister Amit Shah's statement. Meanwhile, the TMC has called for BJP MP Pratap Simha's expulsion, who issued the passes to the intruders.
The drama escalated with BJP social media head Amit Malviya pointing fingers at Congress as he identifies one of the intruders named Neelam Azad, claiming her as an active Congress supporter and professional activist. Simultaneously, the new Chief Ministers for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, Mohan Yadav and Vishnu Deo Sai respectively, have officially assumed their duties. A total of 15 MPs, 14 from Lok Sabha and one from Rajya Sabha, were suspended from Parliament on Thursday for the remainder of the Winter Session. This follows after stormy scenes played out in Parliament on Thursday, December 14, in the wake of the massive security breach a day before.
Earlier in the day, TMC member Derek O'Brien was suspended from the Rajya Sabha for the remainder of the Winter session for "unruly behaviour" and "misconduct".
