Several cabinet and administration picks of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump were targeted with bomb threats and "swatting" incidents on November 26 and 27. Elise Stefanik, Trump's choice for U.N. ambassador, reported a bomb threat against her family home while traveling with her family. Law enforcement, including New York State, County, and U.S. Capitol Police, responded quickly and professionally. Lee Zeldin, nominated to head the EPA, also received a pipe bomb threat with a pro-Palestinian message. Zeldin and his family were not at home, and they are safe, while law enforcement investigates the situation. The FBI confirmed its awareness of these threats and is working with local authorities. Trump’s spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, condemned these acts of intimidation, including swatting, where false crimes trigger armed police responses. Despite the threats, Leavitt emphasized that the incoming administration would not be deterred by such violent acts.
