SASSA and the Department of Social Development have briefed the Portfolio Committee on the findings of an investigation into allegations of weaknesses in the application and payment system of the SRD grant. They also outlined measures that were put in place to prevent this.

This comes after two Stellenbosch University students claimed their names were used to claim the SRD grant even though they did not apply for the SRD grant.
