This try by Tony Novis, one of the earliest recorded on film, helped the Lions to a 6-3 victory against the All Blacks in the fourthTest of the 1930 series.
Novis, like so many Lions past and present, was to prove himself exceptional off the field as well as on it.
Ten years after his heroics in New Zealand, he earned the Military Cross for displaying "the greatest gallantry" and setting “an example of calmness and courage under fire to the officers and men under him” at The Battle of Sidi Barrani in Egypt - you can read the citation here: [ Ссылка ].
