The Dazu Rock Carvings are one of the most well-preserved grottoes in China. There are lots of Buddhist statues on the top and hillsides of the mountains in Dazu county, SE Chongqing. The most famous one might be the statue "Goddess of Mercy of a Thousand Hands" sitting on of the peaks. The marvelous dance "Goddess of Mercy of a Thousand Hands" was inspired by this statue.
