There’s a cool way to play 2-5-1’s that will instantly give you that gypsy jazz sound.

This move works for both rhythm and soloing.

Standard 2-5-1 in C - Dm7 G7 C

Gypsy Jazz 2-5-1 in C - Dm7 C#7#9 C
