The adventure begins around 4 PM at the end ofay Kaew Road, just before the ascent. The goal is to reach the summit by midnight, right when the Visaka Bucha Day festivities begin.

For those wondering about the difficulty – yes, it can be strenuous and typically takes about 5 hours. This is a no-alcohol event.
Visaka Bucha Day falls on Wednesday, May 22 2024. As such, all banks and government offices, including Immigration, will be closed.
Many bars, restaurants, and convenience stores will not be serving alcohol.
Expect traffic disruptions around Huay Kaew and Canal Road in the afternoon.
