Paul Harrell and Koby Kampschroeder presented at the Missouri Association of School Business Officials (MoASBO) meeting in St. Joseph, MO. They discuss how North Kansas City School district has saved $32,268,922 over 15 years on 45 buildings totaling 2,841,155 square feet in their district through energy conservation.
Navitas performed an investment grade audit to identify the critical facility issues and develop energy conservation and facility improvement measures to address them. Through this process it was determined that North Kansas City Schools would be best serve by taking a phased or staged approach to the project. The work included upgrading the interior and exterior lighting to energy efficient or LED lamps and fixtures, HVAC equipment upgrades, installation of a building automation system, water conservation measures, roof replacement, and building weatherization.
The ongoing support and education from the data analytics has made a huge impact to their energy conservation success, facility comfort and maintenance planning.
