Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach died in 1788, about fifty-five years before the sostenuto pedal was invented. In fact, no keyboard instrument had a sustaining pedal at the time he composed the Solfeggietto.

I decided to play the piece with the use of a pedal, as if C.P.E. Bach composed it for piano during the Romantic period and added pedal marks. This is my interpretation and I completely understand if it will not be to the liking of every listener.
