France 24's Naomi Lloyd details the history of the Catalan independance movement. From the initial referendum to separate from Spain in October 2017 to the final day of a four-month trial on June 12, 2019, the nearly two years of fighting for Catalan independence will culminate in the court's decison, to be released this autumn. The results of the trial could be as light as a ban on political participation for the 12 defendants in the case, or as heavy as 25 years in jail.
