Mini Asymmetric Radial Keratotomy (MARK, previously known as Mini ARK) for keratoconus is a microsurgical technique developed in 1993 by Italian surgeon Marco Abbondanza. Microincisions made with a diamond blade produce a controlled flattening of the cornea, correcting astigmatism and reinforcing corneal structure.

Dr. Abbondanza has been studying this pathology for 30 years and, in his medical career, has become one of the world-leading experts on keratoconus and keratoconus conservative surgery. He conceived himself the MARK microsurgical technique to avoid corneal transplantation and was the first in Italy to use Corneal Collagen Cross-linking for keratoconus.
