The Cameroon government and the Confederation of African Football have ordered an investigation into the deadly stampede which occurred on Monday night at a stadium in Cameroon’s capital, Yaounde. Fans trying to enter Olembe Stadium to watch an Africa Football Cup of Nations (AFCON) match between Cameroon and Comoros overpowered hundreds of police and left at least eight people dead and 38 wounded.
