i know how awful writing a personal statement is (i put mine off for months because i dreaded it so much) but take it from me, you got this!!
---------------
as promised, here are some midwifery reports:
* MBRACE report
* Saving babies lives bundle
* The ockenden review
* FIGO
* Better Births
* The East Kent report
---------------
also lol i was sitting in a lecture and remembered these tips that i totally forgot to share:
- don’t reference any shows like call the midwife or one born every minute. call the midwife is obviously very outdated and will be overlooked if you put it in. one born every minute is heavily edited so is irrelevant to use, especially if you’re saying you learnt things from it. i talked about using books as they are far more factual SO PLEASE DO NOT REFERENCE ANY MATERNITY TV SHOWS!
- look at university pages for your course and prospectuses as you maybe able to include certain things about modules you’ll be studying or take any big words from (e.g. “antenatal”) which will show the admissions team you know what you’re talking about and have done research into the course/ uni
- write a plan / scribble page of any topics and key ideas you want to mention in your PS (your scribble page does not have to be structured, it could just include fancy sentences you’ve thought of that you want to use but haven’t got anywhere to put it in your PS yet)
