As an INTP, I've caught myself using my logic to defend against emotional situations all the time.
I may use my logic to try and correct someone's focus so they don't have experience intense emotions, which means that I also won't have to experience intense emotions.
For INTPs, emotions feel like a foreign substance covering you and stopping you in your tracks.
You want to do everything you can to get it off, but I'm a firm believer that the only way out is through.
Figure out what emotions need from you, what your partner, friend or colleague needs from you to move forward as opposed to trying to push it away with logic.
Understanding this can be vital to building lasting relationships.
