Whitby Station is located as the terminus of the Esk Valley Railway line that runs between Whitby and Middlesbrough with the station being operated by Northern rail
The Station sees a very infrequent services, with national rail trains heading to/from either towards Middlesbrough, Hexham or Carlisle
Services on the line are operated using Class 156 and Class 158's which are all set to be replaced by brand new Diesel Multiple Units in the coming years these were still in the design stage at the time of filming.
