Elisabeth Thijssen, MSc, UCSF Memory and Aging Center, San Francisco, CA, and Amsterdam UMC, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, discusses the diagnostic significance of phosphorylated tau (P-tau). P-tau is higher in those either with diagnosed Alzheimer's Disease or with Alzheimer's Disease pathology. In particular, Thijssen talks about her study comparing P-tau217 versus P-tau181. She concludes that this could be used in the future as a diagnostic tool for clinicians. This interview was recorded during an online conference call with The Video Journal of Dementia (VJDementia).
