I am combining the issue of 1) Dealing with code 5B00 and 2) The waste Ink Pads (Which code 5B00 relates to).
Using a printer such as the Canon G4210 Tank printer (Along with most other printers) produces waste ink. Waste ink pads are necessary to handle such ink. A more technical explanation from me is not possible about the ink. Let's just say Canon programs a certain amount of ink usage into this machine and when the counter runs out, or usage time is exceeded, then code 5B00 will be triggered (I assume). After such, the printer will no longer operate and you are referred to the "Manual." The consumer has no capability to rectify this issue as far as I can tell.
Here is the link to another user's video which solves the reset of code 5B00.

I am grateful to INKfinite as their video restored my machine to operating condition!! I almost reached the point of giving up but searching YouTube has been found to be important if you want the right answer for anything.
I decided to tackle the ink pads to see what condition they were in. There are 3 such pads stacked in this machine. I opted to create my own waste ink handling. My result (A Redneck repair) gives viewers the option of creating their own ink drainage system. Buying the exact replacement pads for the G4210 is like buying the parade of ink cartridges seen in the past (A joke). Good luck on your repair. I hope this video was worthwhile.
EDIT Feb 14, 2024 : Just this week my printer ink hoses lost ink. I thought I was being careful about the ink status. You can learn over time how these systems function and go Bonkers. The ink appears to quickly evaporate when tied to indoor humidity OR it must siphon back down into the tanks???!! The process accelerates in winter. It was necessary for me to do an ink flush even though I did follow a Youtubers description here : [ Ссылка ] There are many videos about this inking process. It did work for me before.. You have to adjust a process shown as some of the videos are not 100% true or necessary (I did not use the clips). It takes a lot of time to research this process but can sure remedy problems for which some people would give up and junk the printer...
