The GTO was produced by Pontiac Motor Corporation for model years 1964 through 1974, and in the decade long stretch became one of the most iconic muscle cars of all time. The 1967 models of Pontiac Motor Division represented a bold new approach in automotive styling, combined with many new engineering features designed to increase the safety, comfort and convenience of driving.
This true 242 VIN "Goat" has some concealed surprises, however; which will be sure to please its new owner. For starters, under the hood lurks a brand new 525HP LS3 fuel-injected V8, which is backed by a Tremec T56 Magnum 6-speed manual transmission. And, with only about 150 miles on the drivetrain, it's barely getting broken in; plus, while you're breaking it in, the hydraulic clutch ensures that your left leg won't get tired of being in heavy traffic...Of course, "LS Aficionados" will recognize the distinctive bark of the LS powerplant when it's fired up; but the unsuspecting won't realize it until all they see of this GTO is its tail lights. A big aluminum radiator with electric cooling fans keeps the LS3 cool all day, even in stop and go traffic. Custom headers and dual exhaust with cut-outs give you sound options from "muscle" to "Hulk Smash muscle". To accommodate the longer drivetrain, a custom shortened and balance driveshaft sends the twist to the 12-bolt rear end, which houses a set of 3.73:1 gears, making this setup ideal for any type of driving. The alternator, power steering, and belt-driven accessories are all GM Performance Parts, and the car also sports a larger high-volume fuel pump for the injected V8. If you find yourself needing to get down to legal speeds quickly, you'll appreciate the hydraulic-assist power brakes. In addition, new Hotchkis suspension components help provide much better handling than the original suspension. A new set of Speedhut electronic gauges are there to help the driver monitor engine RPM, oil pressure, and coolant temp. Vintage-style Cragar 5-spoke aluminum wheels are wrapped in raised white letter Goodyear Eagle GTII radials and complete the vintage muscle car look.
From the outside, you'll notice that the body line gaps between each panel are even and the doors open & close with ease. The interior is beautiful and looks like it has rarely been sat in. The black on black combo works great on a GTO, and this one is no exception. You can see that the seats, carpet, door panels, headliner, and the dash all look great.
