This is the first in a multi-video set on the making of a timelapse video of the sun. This 10 second spot consists of 100 solar images taken on 5-11-2012 through a Coronado SolarMax II 60 telescope. The images are completely unprocessed and simply "stacked" in a video editor at 10 frames/sec. Despite having a very good mount and excellent tracking, it is very obvious that the sun is "dancing" all over the screen! Please don't "Thumbs Down" me for that...as that's the reason I am posting this one! This is caused by atmospheric disturbances which deflect the light by just enough variability to cause this effect. The moral of this video: One cannot do a decent solar timelapse without some additional post-processing to address this issue. Stay tuned for Step 2...coming soon!
