In part 1 of our 2 part series on recording/editing software for podcasts we took a look at the basic features of GarageBand.

While GarageBand is a great entry level program, it is only available for Mac users. In this post we will go over the basic functions of Audacity, a free audio recording and editing platform for both Mac and PC (and even Linux if you are hardcore like that).

Audacity has a very basic layout, but don't let that fool you. It actually has a lot of features that are very efficient and easy to use.
