A person is dead after being shot by a Deputy Sheriff during an altercation in Monroe County on Saturday.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says they were called about a suspicious suspect on the 9000 block of Hoffman Road near Maybee just before 11 a.m.
A little over a half hour later, the sheriff’s office received a second call reporting a suspicious suspect who matched the description of the suspicious person from the Hoffman Road incident a few miles away in the 6300 block of Blue Bush Road.
The sheriff’s office says when the deputy arrived at that scene, they were immediately engaged by the suspect who began physically assaulting the deputy.
