Inspired by a question about which steam locomotives I have in my collection, I decided to see what I could muster. It turned out to be enough for a little feature about Deutsche Reichsbahn Gesellschaft (DRG) in 1:87.
I have more a few more steamers stuffed away in my cabinet drawers but they need decoders before I can display them in all their glory.
If you struggle with the Fraktur font here is a little help:
Featured locomotives:
K. Bay. Sts. E. Gt 2 x 4/4 (Trix)
DRG BR 50 Ük (Roco)
DRG BR 36 (Roco with ESU sound decoder)
DRG BR 93 (Roco)
DRG BR 39 in early green livery (Fleischmann)
Featured coaches and wagons:
DRG Saarbrücken OOt and KKt dumpers (Roco)
DRG (ex Prussian) Abteilwagen (Fleischmann)
DRG (ex Prussian) Personenwagen (Fleischmann)
DRG (ex Prussian) Postwagen (Fleischmann)
DRG (ex Prussian) Gepäckwagen (Fleischmann)
DRG Güterzugbegleitwagen (Fleischmann)
DRG "Donnerbüchsen" (Roco)
This little film also makes up a time stamp, because the next films will be about building the extension loops and landscaping rather than running trains.
As for the music; I chose Mathuresh "Sahasna Ram" (all rights and credits go to the artist - obviously) You may look puzzled and go: "Hare Krishna and TECHNO... and model railroad!?!" Well, I just like the thumping beat and can't help associating it with the pistons of a steam locomotive.
