Thank you for watching our 2012-2018 Ford Focus fender installation video. This is part 2 for our Ford Focus fender replacement series. Painted auto parts are what we do, so we were thrilled to paint this ruby red color by Ford. We've had many people say that a panel painted ruby red would not match but our fender looks fantastic on this Focus.
TOOLS NEEDED:
We used a 10mm socket wrench for the bolts. We also used a panel clip removal tool but you can also use a flat-head screwdriver.
PROCESS:
Hopefully, you watched our removal video. The process is not too complicated, just works in reverse. For those of you who are just watching the installation, it's very straightforward. When you mount the fender, make sure that it's sitting in front of the center bracket by the door. We figure this out in minute 7.32 in the video. Once the fender is mounted, insert a top bolt to make sure the fender doesn't fall. Check the spacing on the door and hood before you tighten any of the bolts. We also forgot to install our fender bracket but sure to include yours on the new fender. It's quick and easy to install, just to 2 small brackets. Now you can begin to secure all the fender bolts. Install the headlight once you have the fender on with good spacing. We found that the fender has pretty wide spacing but double-check with the opposite side. There are two small bolts on the rocker panel, so secure those and snap the rocker panel back on. Lastly, you have to secure the bumper end to the fender and you're all done!
