This epic looking Boeing 747 of Geo Sky departed during perfect light conditions at Maastricht Airport. The classic Boeing 747-200 is one of the last active B747-200``s worldwide. It was delivered to British Airways in 1987 and in 2021 it is still operating cargo flights on a daily basus. Geo Sky is a cargo company from Georgia and mainly connects asian cities with europe. Due to restricted traffic rights the B747 operator always has to do a technical stop at its homebase, Tiflis in Georgia.
Currently Geo Sky operates two B747-200` s, 4L-GEN and 4L-GEO. Bot of them just received a stunning new paint scheme. I haven` t filmed 4L-GEO yet but I am quite sure it will happen soon. Geo Sky is very active at airports I often visit like Frankfurt, Maastricht, Amsterdam or Liege. This video was filmed at Maastricht Airport in the netherlands. Don` t know exactly what kind of cargo they transport, but Geo Sky recently announced a new contract with a logistics company from China. Looks like the B747-200` s operations will be around for a lot longer.
Geo Sky also announced they are looking for more modern B747-400 Cargo aircrafts but I honestly hope they won` t add the B747-400 anytime soon cause I am a hugh B747-200 fan. You won` t get lots of chances to see these classic Jumbos very often. There are just around 10 of these left worldwide.
