VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:
Who was this guy and why was he featured on the front of this BEATLES album?
This was a wise yogi, named Sri Yukteswar. In 1894 he wrote that all matter is nothing but energy, this was 11 years before Einstein came out with E = Mc2.
He also felt that religious institutions were separating and dividing mankind, and he wanted to bring people together, so he collected parallel scriptural references to show an underlying oneness in the truths of the great religions.
Sri Yukteswar is Yogananda’s spiritual teacher, in the book, Autobiography of a Yogi. But he can be a teacher for us all.
For example, if something in the world isn’t going the way we want it to, he might ask us, “Is the whole world going to change for you? Change yourself instead.”
He said that “The hard core of human egotism is hardly to be dislodged except rudely.” We should allow ourselves to be disciplined so that we can be guided by wisdom instead of whims. It might sting to let someone correct us, but it takes us to a new level of consciousness - the only progress that really matters.
Everything in future will improve if we start making an effort now.
