Following the news that the controversial BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be shown, electricity was cut off in the institute's buildings, prompting left-wing students at Delhi's Ambedkar University to conduct a protest on Friday. Students were able to see the documentary "India: The Modi Question" on their laptops in spite of the university management turning off the power. After the protest, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (North), Delhi, arrived to the institution. The demonstration was held two days after the Delhi Police detained 13 Jamia Millia Islamia students on Wednesday as a result of the news that the documentary will be screened at the university's Mass Communication Department.
