The deadline to file income tax return (ITR) has been extended to November 30, 2020 for FY 2019-20. If you file your return after the deadline i.e. on or after December 1, 2020, then you would have to pay a late fee of up to Rs 10,000. However, if your income is below taxable limit then you won't have to pay it even if you file after the deadline. Taxable limit here means Rs 2.5 lakh for individuals below the age of 60, Rs 3 lakh for senior citizens aged 60 but less than 80 and Rs 5 lakh for super senior citizens aged 80.
