Since the first week of September, violence in Manipur has escalated once again, with the use of aerial bombings via drones, rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), and other sophisticated weaponry making the situation increasingly tense and vulnerable. Recently, five people were killed in Jiribam district, marking a grim turn in the ongoing unrest. India Today became the first channel to reach Kourtruk village, which was attacked by drones, bringing exclusive ground coverage. In response to the surge in violence, Manipur Police have deployed anti-drone systems and are in the process of acquiring more such technology, including anti-drone guns, to manage the rising threat.
