"Driven by more interesting interests, the most of the press sat on the hypothesis of culprit, when on the eve of the first world exhibition in Paris, January 13, 1898, the writer Emile Zola wrote and published on the newspaper "L'Aurore" an open letter to the French President Faure, entitled J'Accuse.
Betrayed by the "great liberal French of human rights" Zola takes the side of A. Dreyfus, an army officer unjustly sentenced to life exile at the Ile du Diable (French Guyana), hurling invectives against the harsh military power and the institutions of a "rotting" society who condemn the innocent while honors the guilty and buries the truth with the lies.
Almost two years after the publication of J'Accuse the new president Loubet signed the grace in favor of A. Dreyfus, jew.
E. Zola was sentenced to one year in jail and a fine of 3000 francs for contempt of the institutions.
Four years later he died, probably as victim of an attack.
Today .....
Today we no longer have a Zola, not even a president of the republic to which to appeal, or a good god to believe in!
Today we are alone with the press ....
Information as a pile of rubble and debris piled on men conciousness, and layers and layers of truth wich, removed with difficulty, let the putrescence of even more ancient truth emerge, burying themselves the reasons of the first winners.
This is the story,
ashes scattered in the dust of time.

This is a song of my first (and sole) cd as a songwriter.
It apparently refers to a famous letter of E. Zola regarding a political affair of his own times, but I only use the title of that letter as an undirect hommage to a certain way to be artist or anyway to be a man.
So I took the title "J'accuse" to tell my personal jaccuse about the times we're living, and in particular I focused on the problem of INFORMATION and MEDIA.
