STORYLINE:
Leaders from the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, have begun to arrive in Jakarta on Friday ahead of a weekend summit.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung of Vietnam was welcomed at the Halim Perdanakusuma military airbase by several women in traditional attire and waving the Vietnamese flag.
After being greeted by the welcoming delegation, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei waved to the camera crews and photographers covering his arrival.
By late Friday, Malaysia Prime Minister Najib Razak and Philippines President Benigno Aquino III had also arrived in Indonesia.
The meetings are expected to discuss regional security, economic developments and strategies to boost transportation links in the region.
