These new Backstab and Tank builds may not be all that amazing for Rogues looking to top the dps meters in PvE raids, but they sure are fun for filling other rolls, PVPing and leveling. Previously you wouldn't be caught dead not running Mutilate and Deadly Brew at all times, however, now with these new updates to the old Backstab runes: Slaughter from the Shadows, and Shiv, which is now Cuttthroat, It's much more viable to run these other options when doing things like questing, dungeons, and battlegrounds.

Slaughter from the Shadows will now also decrease the cost of Backstab by an additional 10 energy, as well as add a 15% chance to allow you to cast an Ambush without having to be in stealth.

The new Cuttthroat rune replaces the old Shiv rune, and allows you to use Backstab and other 'behind the target' abilities from in front of your target. This makes it much easier to use them while leveling up and engaging in pvp.
