Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday introduced three bills in the Lok Sabha to overhaul the criminal justice system in the country. The bills seek to replace the Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure and the Indian Evidence Act. With the new bills, the government aims to ensure "justice, not punishment", Amit Shah said while introducing them in the Lok Sabha.
