The AIADMK top leadership on Sunday held seat-sharing talks with Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the Tamil Nadu Assembly election.
Chief Minister K Palaniswsami, who is the AIADMK joint coordinator, and his deputy O Panneerselvam, who is the party's coordinator, called on Amit Shah at hotel in Chennai late on Sunday.
The talks that started around 10 pm were on after around three hours and concluded at 12.50 am. Amit Shah had earlier arrived in Tamil Nadu for an election rally.
Sources claimed that the BJP has sought 33 seats after AIADMK initially offered 21 seats. BJP leader L Murugan said the talks concluded and a pact will be signed soon. The BJP has expectations of getting 60 seats that it had identified as "winnable".
In the 2016 Tamil Nadu Assembly poll, AIADMK won 136 seats of 234.
Single-phase elections are scheduled on April 6 in Tamil Nadu.
