The airport was founded in 1942 and acquired by the City of Scottsdale in 1966. There were over 195,800 operations in 2020. It’s considered one of the busiest single runway general aviation airports in the nation, and a top corporate jet facility.
Since its original construction, the runway has not undergone any major rehabilitation. The city has maximized the useful life of the existing runway, but it’s now time. The runway is in critical need of rehabilitation to ensure the infrastructure is maintained in excellent condition to best serve the based and visiting aircraft customers flying single and multi-engine piston, turboprop, and business jets.
