The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently announced some major changes in the Assessment Plan of Class 10th & 12th. Do not panic, because we are here to break it down for you to understand.
New Exam Pattern
CBSE has announced that the Academic Session for 2021-22 will be divided into two terms with approximately 50% syllabus in each term.
Term 1 - Will be conducted between November - December 2021.
- The Question Paper will have Multiple Choice Questions.
- Questions will be Case based / Assertion Reasoning.
- The duration of each Paper will be 90 mins.
Term 2 - Will be conducted between March - April 2022.
- The Question Paper will have Subjective Questions.
- Questions will be Case based / Situation based / Open ended - short/ long ans.
- The duration of each Paper will be 2 hours.
(In case the situation is not suitable for normal exams, a 90 minute MCQ based examination will be conducted at the end of Term 2 as well.)
Irrespective of the two Terms, the schools will also conduct Internal Assessments which will include 3 Periodic Assessment Tests , student enrichment, portfolio and practical work / projects.
The Exams will be conducted in your respective schools or any other centre in your city.
The Papers will be set by the Board.
External Invigilators will be brought in to Supervise the Exam.
For MCQ based exams, Students will have to mark their answers in OMR sheets.
Students are to take both the Terms seriously. Marks of both Term 1 and Term 2 will contribute to the final overall score of the Students.
(In case the situation is bad during both Terms and Exams cannot be conducted, assessment will be done on the basis of the 3 Periodic Assessments.)
