For many of us, no shot is more intimidating than a fairway metal from a tight fairway lie. Having a fairway metal into a green is usually a good thing - you have a chance to reach the green on a long par 4 or you're in great position for a birdie or even an eagle opportunity on a par-5. But this is not a shot we tend to practice a lot and tight lies can be scary no matter what club you have in your hand. It's easy to let negative thoughts creep in to hit at the ball defensively.
Fortunately Titleist staff member Trillium Rose has a solution. In this video, she shows how focusing on a feel rather than swing thoughts can free you up to make a good swing and capitalize on the great position you've put yourself in. Give Trillium's approach a try the next time you have a chance to go for a distant green and start getting the best of the longer holes on your course.
