Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has conceded that the Labour Party has won the general election. He said it has been a ‘difficult night’.
Mr Sunak said the British people have delivered a ‘sobering verdict’ on his party. He has called Keir Starmer to congratulate him.
He has, however, been re-elected as the Conservative MP for Richmond and Allerton.
Labour has won the general election by a huge majority as a surge in Reform UK has hit the Tory vote.
Victory was confirmed at around 5am with Labour forecast to win by a huge majority.
