In this seminar Dr Hooman Motamed from IIEES will discuss the development of an Insurance Earthquake Risk Model for Residential Buildings in Iran.
Iran is preparing to provide a nationwide insurance coverage for residential buildings against natural hazards, namely earthquake, flood and storm. In so doing, using modern stochastic catastrophe risk models for pricing and managing the accumulation of risks is inevitable. This presentation provides information on how the first government-backed earthquake cat model has been developed by International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology (IIEES) in Iran.
