ENTRY-LEVEL LUXURY WATCHES
The world of luxury watch collecting is wild. Prices can start at under $1k and climb into the millions. With such a vast range of price levels and incredible brands to choose from, it can seem like a daunting task to select the right introductory luxury watch.
ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL DATEJUST
The Datejust is, perhaps, one of the most iconic luxury watches in existence. It came to market in 1945 and was the first mechanical wristwatch to feature an automatically changing date mechanism on the dial.
It was single-handedly responsible for how the industry uses the calendar function.
With over seventy years under its belt, the Datejust is also available in a bevy of design set options, from solid gold stunners to two-tone and more versatile all-steel options. From there, the Datejust is also available on the Jubilee or Oyster bracelet and with a smooth, engine-turned, or fluted bezel.
Each edition of the Datejust is widely sought-after for its reverence and association with the exclusive Rolex brand.
Brittany’s pick is a remarkable vintage Datejust ref. 1603 from the late 1960s. It features an older-style acrylic crystal, creamy lume, and a leather bracelet instead of steel, allowing it to maintain an even more attractive price than variations on a matching steel bracelet.

ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL
Remove the date mechanism on the dial, and you’ve basically got the Oyster Perpetual. Another staple of the Rolex brand, the OP has been in production since the 1950s and is also available in countless design set options.
Because it doesn’t have a date mechanism, the movement isn’t as complicated as the Datejust. As a result, the Oyster Perpetual is often an affordable entry-level Rolex.

CARTIER SANTOS
The Cartier Santos was one of the very first men’s wristwatches. It came to market in 1904 and was developed by Louis Cartier for his friend Brazilian pilot Alberto Santos-Dumont.
It’s absolutely iconic, featuring the brand’s signature tall Roman numeral hour markers on the dial, a square-shaped case, and visible screw details.
It’s also available in a broad range of style options to suit any wrist and any budget, including beginners.

CARTIER TANK
That brings us to another absolute entry-level must-have – the Cartier Tank. It’s a versatile luxury watch that also happens to bring with it an irresistible price tag.
Brittany’s personal favorite is the newer-edition colorful Tank Must, featuring several stunning monochromatic color options.

OMEGA SEAMASTER
The Seamaster is one of the industry’s most iconic professional series dive watches, aside from the Rolex Submariner, of course. It also has similar design set options but at much more obtainable price tags.
The Seamaster is Brittany's go-to if you’re looking for a stylish diver that won’t break the bank.
Brittany’s pick in this video even features a black dial and bezel/stainless steel finish combo similar to the Submariner but with a uniquely distinctive Omega twist.
The dial features the brand’s signature wave pattern and displays the time via bold luminous batons and wide hands.

OMEGA RAILMASTER
Last but not least, we have the Omega Railmaster. It’s incredibly versatile with its smooth bezel, simple dial, and stainless steel finish.
It also just so happens to boast an affordable price tag as well.
