Follow local food's journey from Amazing Grace Family Farm in Janesville, WI straight to the Madison Metropolitan School District's Central Kitchen and then to kids' plates! The Farm to School Project is an official partnership between REAP Food Group and the Madison Metropolitan School District in Madison, Wisconsin. Farm to School teaches kids important lessons about where food comes from, how it is grown, and nutrients found in fruits and vegetables. It also connects kids to local farmers and chefs, so they can have a more interactive relationship with food and the local food system. REAP's Farm to School program aims to serve over 100,000 pounds of local produce to 50,000 students throughout the 2016-17 school year.
YOU can support REAP's work by donating $5, $10, $20 or more at bit.ly/Give2REAP. Every dollar is vital to transforming school lunch, strengthening our local food system and ensuring the next healthy generation!
Thank you to Chris Blakeney of Amazing Grace Family Farm and Kelly West of the Madison Metropolitan School District for being in "The Path from Farm to School."
